Democrats who monitor advertising spending now put at five the number of states where Senator John McCain is reducing his advertising – New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Colorado, Maine and Minnesota.
In essence, Mr. McCain’s campaign has decided to spread the advertising time he bought for the upcoming week in those states over the next two final weeks.
While station managers in the affected states said they were not ruling out the possibility that Mr. McCain would pump money back in before election day, on Nov. 4, the move represents a stark reordering of priorities.
Democrats were predicting Mr. McCain would use the savings to increase his advertising in Pennsylvania and, possibly, Ohio and Florida, all of which have become that much more vital should Mr. McCain have to concede states like Colorado and Wisconsin.

McCAIN: Said Obama had voted for tax increases “94 times.”
THE FACTS: This inflated count, heard before, includes repetitive votes as well as votes to cut taxes for the middle class while raising them on the rich. An analysis by factcheck.org found that 23 of the votes were for measures that would have produced no tax increase at all, seven were in favor of measures that would have lowered taxes for many, 11 would have increased taxes on only those making more than $1 million a year.

McCAIN: Said Obama supported a congressional earmark of “$3 million for an overhead projector at a planetarium in Chicago, Ill. My friends, do we need to spend that kind of money?”
THE FACTS: McCain’s phrase suggests Obama spent $3 million on an old-fashioned piece of office equipment that projects charts and text on a wall screen. In fact, the money was for an overhaul of the theater system that projects images of stars and planets for educational shows at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium. When he announced the $3 million earmark last year, Obama said the planetarium’s 40-year-old projection system “has begun to fail, leaving the theater dark and groups of school students and other interested museum-goers without this very valuable and exciting learning experience.”

The claim: To hear Obama tell it, McCain isn’t proposing “one penny of tax relief to more than 100 million Americans.”
The Obama campaign says it bases that number on McCain’s proposal to increase the exemption tax filers take for dependents, and adds that it is the “only middle-class tax cut” the Republican nominee has offered.
The top line: It depends on what you mean by tax relief and what you mean by “only.” But Obama’s claim isn’t as far-fetched as it sounds, keeping in mind that projections about tax effects are not carved in stone.
The facts: McCain has made several tax proposals. One of them is the dependent exemption increase.
Obama gets to his “more than 100 million” charge primarily from an analysis that two Harvard researchers did for the campaign. They examined 2004 tax return data from the IRS and estimated that 101 million tax returns would not benefit from the increase to the exemption in 2009. That represents more than 140 million people. The Obama campaign claims that number is actually low because the data did not include non-filers.

If Palin was legitametly trying to raise a concern about this association she would not have said what she did. She is just trying to drag down Obama. This just shows how low McCain’s campaign is willing to sink to win.
Do you want a president that’s campaign would sink this low? I know I wouldn’t want any part of this.
